In order to cut costs, Anheuser-Busch Cos. is encouraging salaried employees to retire early. The brewery company was recently bought by a Belgian brewer last month and is hoping to reduce costs.
The new plan provides better pension and retiree medical benefits. In addition, employees who are 55 years of age will be eligible for severance pay. There are 8,600 eligible employees, and the company is expecting 10-15% to accept the retirement plan.
