2008 Federal Labor Law Changes

August 12th, 2008 · No Comments

Federal Law Labor materials are now available to be shipped to businesses. It is dictated by law that U.S. employers are to post information regarding labor laws for their employees. The new posters include changes made in July of 2008 by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission  on religious discrimination and the federal minimum wage increase.

The posters can be obtained by visiting www.govdocs.com or calling 1-888-273-3274. The EEOC added new language to the Race, Color, Religion, Sex and National Origin section of the Equal Employment Opportunity Code which reads “Religious discrimination includes failing to reasonably accommodate an employee’s religious practices where the accommodation does not impose undue hardship.”

If you or a loved one has experienced unfair treatment as an employee, contact the New York City Employment lawyers of Cary Kane LLP by dialing 212-868-6300 today.
